New FBI Director confirmed
On July 29, 2013, the United States Senate confirmed James B Comey, Jr’s June 21st nomination by President Obama as the 11th Director of the FBI in its 105 year history..
This will follow the 12 year service of Director Meuller whom will step down on September 4th aftering having had his 10 year term extended 2 more by both the White House and Congress in 2011. The term of a director was limited in 1976 to 10 years after Director J. Edgar Hoover’s 48 year term ended.
