USPS scratch pads reveal SSNs

On at least two different days, a USPS office on Bohannon Drive in Menlo Park, California was discovered during the week of November 15th, 2013 to have been using scratch paper.  Unfortunately, those scratch pads were found to contain photocopies of social security cards, drivers licenses, and other credentials.

One person was shown a copy of their work badge and other private data.  She replied in astonishment that she recognized those credentials as what she had provided to the post office while applying for a passport.

The branch supervisor has stated they will investigate the matter.
